I had the pleasure of co-hosting Plus Night Out during New York Fashion Week! I stressed out over what to wear for this event because I knew I was going to been seen by a lot of influential people and brands. I went to the mall and tried on numerous dresses, I looked online over and over again but nothing was speaking to me, all while the perfect dress was sitting in my closet….
I feel in love with this cape dress the first time I saw it earlier in the Spring but it was sold out in my size, however to my surprise it got restocked! When I saw I had the chance to own this dress again I immediately purchased it full price, I couldn’t wait for it to go on sale (like I usually would) because my size might sell out again!! Since I made a impulse buy with no where in mind to wear it too, I put the dress in my closet and forgot about it.
After no luck finding something to wear for the event, I came across the cape dress again browsing online and remembered that I had already purchased it! I pulled the dress out and tried it on again. I was nervous and unsure about making this my final choice, I loved this dress but was being indecisive, however time was running out and I was tired of looking, so cape dress it was!
I’m glad I “settled” to wear it because I got so many compliments at Plus Night Out, the look came together! My face was beat by celebrity make-up artist Christopher Michael, my hair was flawless, and I was blinged out with over $10,000 worth of diamonds from Avianne Jewelers!
One of the specific compliments I got at the event was how well my dress fit. Most thought it was something custom designed for me and was surprised when I said it was off the rack. Since it was New York Fashion Week and a lot of people in attendance were in the fashion industry they noticed more about the construction of the garment than the average person would!
Overall, Plus Night Out was a huge success and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as co-host! I can’t wait for next year!
