Even though I wasn’t feeling my best this year during the Essence Music Festival, I still managed to have a good time and be super productive! I had a full weekend which included interviewing celebrities in the Convention Center, hosting the New Orleans Natural Hair Expo, attending concerts, going to networking events, and a photoshoot for an upcoming cover of HoneyBeNatural Magazine!
Since this wasn’t my first time attending the Essence Festival I already knew it was going to be super-hot in New Orleans! I wanted my attire to be cool, comfortable, and stylish so I reached out to Igigi! This year I wore Igigi for all of my official appearances during the Essence Music Festival, and got tons of compliments over the course of the weekend!
Friday I wore the Geneva Plus Size Wrap Dress in Fuchsia/Coral while I interviewed some of the celebrities in attendance for my podcast The Chenese Lewis Show. The dress was real comfortable to wear and I got a lot of compliments about the color looking nice on my skin tone. View More Pics On Facebook
This year the headliner for the festival was Prince, hence the purple lighting below! The lighting was cool to build up the anticipation of his performance, but sucked for my pics, I tried to correct it as much as I could!
Saturday I served as host for the New Orleans Natural Hair Expo in the Taris Plus Size Asymmetric Dress in Tropic Noir. This event was one of the most organized and well executed events I’ve ever had the pleasure of hosting, but more than that it was well attended and very successful! My dress was perfect for this occasion and was my favorite dress from the weekend because I LOVE asymmetrical/one shoulder dresses and tops. I will definitely be wearing this dress again!
Sunday morning I headed to the Convention Center to do more celebrity interviews, but everyone must have been tired from partying the night before because things got to a late start with arrivals. Unfortunately I had to leave because I had a schedule of my own to keep up and I left to attend the New Orleans Natural Hair Bunch, and so glad I did! Saturday at the expo I worked the entire day as a host so I didn’t get the chance to talk and connect with people as much as I did at the brunch. I was able to do some great networking and made some great connections, while eating some fabulous New Orleans cuisine. I wore the Heidi Halter Plus Size Dress in Hampton Royal which is sold out but the dress is also available in Black/White and Fuchsia Cachemire.
